It started with Lily, our Border Terrier. We'd try a variety of different pet foods that looked like they contained appetising chunks of meat, but she just wouldn't eat any of them. After a lot of sighing we decided to take her 'fussiness' a bit more seriously.

We discovered that what looked like chunks of meat were nothing of the sort. They were highly processed mechanically recovered parts of animals (almost always carcass) mixed with flours and then pushed through long moulding machines and chopped up to look like chunks. Well no wonder she wasn't that keen on eating it!
So we decided to do something about it. Surely it was possible
to make pet food from proper ingredients? We got together with
a team of vets and nutritionists to help us create the kind
of food we'd want to feed Lily.
We then got in touch with BAHNM – the British Association of Holistic Nutrition and Medicine – to ask for their help in creating a perfectly holistic balanced food and set to work sourcing ingredients from organic farmers and growers to use in our recipes.
We then scoured the UK and went all across Europe looking for the kitchens we wanted to work with who would produce food for us in small batches (most pet food is made in factories which produce millions of cans a day)
It took two years! We created nine recipes that Lily and her friends agreed on.
Lily now LOVES her food. Every day we put our food in her bowl and she eagerly tucks into her meal. We’re happy because not only is she really enjoying her food now but we can see how good it is for her. Her coat has never been more shiny, her bad breath has gone and she looks the picture of health.
