Role: - Independent Channel - Sales Specialist 

Reporting to: - Sales Manager

Your Role at Lily’s Kitchen

As a Sales Specialist for our Independents, you will report into the Sales Manager and be key to the continued success and growth of Lily’s Kitchen. You will work within a team of six who are a dedicated bunch and live and breathe Lily’s Kitchen, they can say with pride that they are the ambassadors of our brand. As a Sales Specialist you will thrive in a fast paced, competitive and entrepreneurial environment, working hard to achieve our strategic objectives.

How Will I Make a Difference?

  • Be jointly responsible for the Independents Channel. The heartland of our business, comprising over 900 bricks and mortar accounts
  • Identify potential new stockists that are well suited to our brand and grow our number of new accounts
  • Sell in the Lily’s Kitchen core range, promotions and new products to both new and existing stockists
  • Successfully develop and follow up leads to convert new stockist opportunities into first orders and subsequently into high value accounts
  • Incentive and nurture relationships with our existing stockists’ to grow revenue YOY, delivering and overachieving targets.
  • Be out and about visiting stockists between 2-4 days a week
  • Responsible for forecasting of our accounts, and playing a key role in communicating this to the Supply Chain team as part of the integrated business planning process
  • Conducting effective meetings with some of the larger Independent accounts
  • Acting as a Brand Ambassador at trade shows
  • Being the eyes and ears of the business- gathering competitor insight and making recommendations to the wider business
  • Educating stockists on our products through detailed training sessions and sampling activity (weekend work will be necessary at times)
  • Daily use of excel and our internal system to pull reports relating to sales of your accounts, to identify opportunities/risks and formulate strategies.

What You Need to be Successful

  • A university degree (or equivalent)
  • Proven successful track record in a sales focused role
  • Experience with data analysis
  • A proven relationship builder, you must have first class communication and listening skills
  • You will feel comfortable in offering feedback and suggestions, at senior levels, about how we can drive our business
  • Preferably experience of working with Independents with a sales capacity 
  • Pawfect presentation skills, previous experience delivering training is a bonus
  • An ability to embrace change in a fast growth & vibrant FMCG environment
  • You will be an enthusiastic team player who is self-motivated, eager and flexible to deliver against objectives on time and hit targets
  • High energy, adaptable, and with the ability to present solutions with passion
  • An excel geek - Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Sage experience isn’t essential though would be a great bonus
  • It goes without saying that you need to have a PFP (passion for pets)

  • It’s faster paced than a team of huskies here at Lily’s Kitchen. You’ll need to be comfortable and had experience with sitting on that fast moving sleigh.
