We get asked all the time why our dry food is so special?

It's because we use a truly amazing range of wholesome organic ingredients and no chicken meal.

Did you know that a manufacturer is legally allowed to have up to 30% sawdust in chicken meal? The other 70% is made of dried powdered skin, feathers and bones. The best way to check the quality of the dry food is to look at the Ash content - this is your indicator of how much chicken meal is being used in the recipe. Any higher than 6% and that tells you that a LOT is being used. It's also a warning sign as too much Ash causes stress on the kidneys. Chicken meal is cheap and indigestible. It provides protein but not the sort that a body can make use of. This is why we don't use it. It would be really easy for us to put it into our food - it's a lot cheaper than any other ingredient we use - but we just think Lily deserves better.
