Lily’s Kitchen Bark Off
The Great British Bake Off is back! Starting tonight at 8pm on BBC One, we finally get our fix of those signature bakes and soggy bottoms. So in our excitement we decided to don our aprons and bake some of our very own canine cakes from Henrietta’s Dinner For Dogs.
The judges at Lily’s Kitchen may have four legs and wagging tails, but these pooches’ palates are just as discerning as Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry’s. The office pups know proper food for dogs when they sniff it!
Cupcakes for dogs
First up, Nelly (our resident Mary Berry) heads for Sophie’s Celebration Cupcakes:
The cream cheese icing is a real hit and the cupcakes have a lovely light consistency, best for eating in one gulp! The fresh parsley and cheese give these cupcakes a great taste. Celebration Cupcakes are a favourite of Lily’s and Nelly agrees that they’re a winning recipe!
Fruity Granola Squares for Dogs
Next, Nelly tries Charlotte’s Fruity Granola Squares:
There may be no cream cheese in sight but these Fruity Granola Squares pack a punch with dried rosehip and sunflower seeds lending the wonderfully fruity taste. Rosehips are one of nature’s richest sources of Vitamin C which helps to strengthen the immune system. It’s a paws up from Nelly.
Carrot Cakes for Dogs
Finally, it’s the turn of the Carrot Cakes, baked by Millie:
Cooked to perfection and Nelly appreciates the addition of blueberries for some real flair. A great healthy option with packed with carotene for overall health!
