Morning Porridge for Dogs

Oats are a wonderful ingredient as they are very digestible and also high in protein. This Morning Porridge is the dog's pyjamas and makes a satisfying and healthy start to the day.

100g (4oz) oats

1 apple

Small handful blueberries

1 tbsp ground flaxseed

1 tsp dried (or 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh) herbs

Put the oats in a saucepan and pour over 600ml (1 pint) water. Cover and simmer cook for 5 minutes. Leave to cool completely (this can take about an hour, so you might want to cook the oats the night before, cover and leave overnight to cool).

Grate the apple and stir into the cooked oars, along with the blueberries, flaxseed and herbs.
